GREGG KOFI BROWN

 

Gregg Kofi Brown has performed as bassist with Amadou & Mariam, Damon Albarn's African Express, Joe Cocker, Beth Orton, Bomb the Bass, Finley Quaye, Eric Burden & is a long standing member of Osibisa on guitar, bass & lead vocals.

 

His critically acclaimed album Gregg Kofi Brown & Friends 'Together as One' features Sting, Billy Cobham, Stanley Jordan, Des'ree & Gabrielle. Gregg Kofi Brown recently wrote and sang on the lead track “Fallout’ for Santana drummer Dennis Chamber’s new album ‘Groove and More’.

 

Gregg Kofi Brown was executive producer of the 2003 Evening Standard cover-mount CD in memory of Damilola Taylor, which featured the likes of Robbie Williams, Craig David, Gorillaz, Blue and Ms.Dynamite. In the eighties Gregg’s song ‘Baby Talk’ (recorded by Alisha) was number one in the Billboard Dance Charts and he recently had a song covered by the legendary Patti Austen.

 

Gregg Kofi starred in several hit London West End musicals including: Tommy, The Buddy Holly Story and portrayed Jellyroll Morton at the Royal Court Theatre, Gregg received critical acclaim for his performance in the West End production of ‘A Tribute To The Blues Brothers’. Gregg is set to take on the role of Barry White for a theatre tour from 2015.

 

His live set will consist of Afro Beat, Highlife, African jazz funk and Afro\Latin pop classics. Gregg Kofi Brown has articles published by The Guardian, The Independent, Melody Maker magazine and The Voice Newspaper. His new single and video ‘Chasing Rainbows’ is set for release in July 2015. His autobiography ‘Rock n Roll & UFOs’ is set for release in April 2015.
